Events: Mass Delete Events via Import (2025/05)

You can now delete events directly using an import file from the Control Panel. This enhancement allows admins to quickly remove events created in error or clean up outdated or test sessions — no manual deletion required.

What It Does

The new "Delete Events" import type works similarly to "Update Events". It uses the EVENTID column in your file to locate and remove matching events from the system.

Built-In Safeguards

This tool is designed with protection in mind:

  • Events with Reservations Will Not Be Deleted
If an event has any reservations with a status of Pending Submission or Submission Received, it will be skipped and flagged with an error.

  • Confirmation Prompt
Before any deletions occur, the system will display a confirmation message asking you to approve or cancel the action.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Export Your Events

From the Control Panel, navigate to the Events section and select the Export button. This will download a spreadsheet of all events, including their IDs.

2. Prepare Your File

Open the downloaded spreadsheet and locate the EVENTID column. This is the critical field used to identify events for deletion. Remove any rows for events you do not want deleted.

Make sure the event IDs listed in your import file match those in your system. You can verify this in the Control Panel’s Event list.

Go to Imported Students > Import Students. In the Import Type dropdown, select Delete Events, choose your file, and click Import. A popup will appear confirming whether you want to proceed.
