Resending Communications in VZ

Use this article when a student or supporter missed an email or SMS, when you need to trigger a bulk resend, or when resolving support requests where the communication footprint shows the message was not delivered. This article explains how to resend communications in VisualZen (VZ), both in bulk through a configuration and individually from a reservation record.

🛠 Step-by-Step Guidance

1. Bulk Resending

  • Navigate to Communication Configurations

  • Open the configuration and click Send Emails (or the SMS equivalent)

  • Review the Recipient Count before sending

  • ⚠️ Important:

    • The recipient count must be less than 5,000

    • If the count exceeds 5,000, apply filters to reduce the audience and resend separately to each filtered population

  • 📅 For event-based communications (e.g., reminders X days before/after an event), the event date must align with the configuration’s day-offset value in order for the resend to be valid.


2. Individual Resending

  • Navigate to the student’s Reservation Record

  • Click the Postmaster icon

  • Select the communication to resend

  • Confirm before sending to prevent duplicate messages


3. Best Practices for Resending

  • Resend only when necessary — avoid spamming recipients

  • For bulk resends, confirm the message logic still applies (filters, event dates, statuses)

  • For individual resends, document the action in case of future support questions
